Comparative Evaluation Of Clinical Probing Versus Cbct For Furcation Involvement In Patients With Periodontitis - A Step Ahead In Comprehensive Implant Planning

Aim: The study aims to compare the use of clinical probing and Cone Beam Computed Tomography (CBCT) in diagnosis furcation involvement (FI) patients with periodontitis. Methods materials: Twenty-two patients, aged 30 65 years periodontitis were included study. who visited from April 2021 May 2022 assessed based on selection criteria. A total 135 teeth checked for involvement. Buccal, mesiopalatal, distopalatal sites maxillary molars buccal lingual mandibular examined clinically using a Nabers probe radiographically by CBCT. Results: There was significant difference between radiographic evaluations percentage grade (III) cases detected evaluation being significantly higher than that evaluation. 1st molar 21 (60%) 2nd had no In Radiographic Grade I FI more first least molar. Furcation side, at MP DP sides (0.00%) Radiographically 14 (40.00%) side (4.00%). Conclusion: CBCT reliable detection III compared probing. It can be useful tool detecting furcations.
